Founded on a Passion for Sound

Write Now Music Studio is the new era of “Avery Chapman Private Music Studio",  a private teaching company focused on contemporary and modern music. Write Now Music Studio's vision  is to create a place where students can build strong musicianship while exploring the music they love—from contemporary commercial music and songwriting to healthy vocal technique and instrument performance. WNMS focuses on reaching students of all ages who are interested in songwriting, voice, guitar, ukulele, piano, music theory, and more. With a foundation in classical training, students in the studio learn how to hone their craft in the modern musical setting, giving them the skills to create music that is both relevant and meaningful in today's musical landscape.

Avery Chapman is the proud founder and owner of Write Now Music Studio, a company that was built on her lifelong love of music, creativity, and storytelling. Music has been a part of Avery’s life for as long as she can remember—her mom says she could sing before she could speak! Throughout her childhood and high school years, Avery studied guitar, piano, and voice. At age 11, she discovered songwriting, which quickly became her favorite way to create and connect with music. That love for songwriting ultimately shaped her path as both an educator and an artist.

Avery attended the University of Miami, where she earned her Bachelor’s degree in Music Education with a focus in contemporary songwriting. She graduated summa cum laude and was honored with the university’s Student Teacher of the Year award for her outstanding achievements during her final semester of student teaching. She went on to teach general music and modern band at Bowman Ashe Doolin K–8 in Miami for three years, bringing contemporary music-making and performance into the classroom. Her students enjoyed playing in rock bands, singing in choirs and a cappella groups, and learning music production on Bandlab and Logic Pro X.

After seven years in Miami, Avery is thrilled to be returning to the Bay Area and launching Write Now Music Studio as the next chapter of her teaching career. She has been teaching private music lessons for over eight years and is excited to grow Write Now into a creative space where students can develop their skills, discover their individual voices, and build a lifelong relationship with music. She also serves as the Director of the Intermediate Choir for the Danville Girls Chorus, a program that  she sang in as a little girl and was an important part of her own musical upbringing.

Outside of teaching, Avery is a dedicated singer-songwriter and performer with four albums of original music and is currently working on her fifth record. Known for her thought-provoking lyricism and expressive storytelling, Avery crafts songs that resonate with emotional depth and authenticity. Her sound is both intimate and expansive, inviting listeners into a world where every word matters. She has been grateful to perform at a number of iconic venues, including the Bluebird Cafe, Levi’s Stadium, The Lost Church, and more. When she's not writing or teaching, you can find Avery on the Soulcycle bike or baking cookies!

At the heart of Avery’s teaching philosophy is the belief that music-making belongs to everyone. She strives to create an environment where students feel celebrated for who they are, encouraged to explore their individuality, and empowered to feel confident in their musicianship. She believes music has the power to connect, heal, uplift, and give people a lifelong means of expressing themselves. Book a lesson with Avery now!
